Terms and Conditions For Home Visits and Dog Walking
1. Bookings
Bookings will only be accepted after all the necessary forms have been completed and payment made in accordance with our price list applicable at that time. Public holidays will be subject to double time . For all new clients, an in-home consultation will be required.Bookings may be accepted up to 24 hours before service begins but payment in full will be required for all bookings made less than 14 days before service begins
2. Duty of Care
The Service Provider highly respects the clients trust with the care of their pet and where necessary, having access to the clients property, The Service Provider will utilise their skill and knowledge to ensure the standards of care provided to the animals and any property is appropriate. A change in a pets routine and circumstances can cause varying degrees of distress and unpredictable or abnormal behaviour, particularly if their owner is on holiday, pets have no concept or ability to understand their owners absence is temporary and they will be coming back. Our carers understand this and will offer comfort and reassurance whilst trying, as far as is practically possible, and to maintain their normal daily routines. In the event of extreme weather which may have an adverse effect on your pet e.g. heat or thunder storms, the carer shall, at their sole discretion, shall take whatever action they consider necessary, including not carrying out scheduled exercise until it is, in their opinion, safe to do so.
3. Aggressive or unsociable animals
The client will indemnify the Service Provider against any damage or injury caused by the pet towards any property, person or other animal, this will include, but not limited to veterinary, medical and legal fees, In the event of a pets behaviour exceeding what would be considered normal or acceptable towards people or other animals, the carer shall, in their sole discretion take whatever action they consider necessary in the best interest of the animal and other animals or people which may be encountered. This may include a refusal to walk a dog or in extreme circumstances termination of this contract and placing the pet in a boarding kennel. We shall not be liable for any refund of fees paid where the behaviour is not specified within the relevant section of the Schedule of services and Fees.Dogs will only be walked on leads unless an off lead disclaimer has been signed by the owner.
4. Necessities
4.1 The Service Provider will properly dispose of your pet(s) waste, however the client shall ensure the is an appropriate supply of bags for that purpose, and indicate their preferred method/location of disposal.
4.2 The client shall provide sufficient food, cat litter and any treats for their pet(s) for the duration of the service.
4.3 The client shall provide secure collars with name/address tags and leads.
5. House cleanliness
The carer shall clean up after your pets to the best of their ability The client shall make available cleaning materials in the event of any ‘mistakes’ within their property. The client shall show the Service Provider the location of appropriate cleaning materials, including but not limited to plastic bags, disposable gloves, towels, disinfectant, paper towels and bin bags. The Service provider may charge for cleaning where the time or number of occurrences exceeds what would be considered to be acceptable.
6. Medicines
It shall be the sole responsibility to ensure the Service Provider is fully aware of any health issues the pet is experiencing, or has suffered in the past, The Service Provider cannot be held liable for any actions or omissions which result in problems or complications for anything not disclosed. No booking can be accepted without a completed Veterinary Release FormThe Service Provider and carer shall follow instruction given within the Schedule of Fees and Services but cannot be held liable for any complications which may arise. In the event of a pet having a contagious illness or disease which has not been disclosed, the client may be liable for the costs of treatment given to other animals which become infected.
7. Unforeseen Purchases
In the event that items need to be purchased to enable the carer to properly perform their duties that are necessary as insufficient quantities were left by the client, or it is considered necessary in the interests of the health and wellbeing of the pet, the client shall reimburse the service Provider upon production of a receipt for the products.
8. Keys
Where it is necessary for the Service Provider to hold keys to a property, the Client shall provide one of each key needed. Keys will be coded and kept within a locked system for security.Keys will be returned upon completion of this agreement providing all fees due have been paid
9. Privacy
It is the clients sole responsibility to ensure the information provided to the Service Provider is current and up to date, the Client agrees to accept any decision made by the Service provider or the Client in the event of not being able to contact the Client as a result of wrong information held, if the Service Provider is subjected to any expenditure as a result of the decision that expenditure shall be recoverable from the client.The Service Provider shall not use or pass to a third party (other than information needed by a carer to perform their duties), All information relating to the client, their property and pet(s) will be stored in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulations 2018.
10. Insurance
The service Provider holds and maintains Public Liability Insurance for the peace of mind of its clients; The insurance cover the carer for the services defined within the Schedule of Services and Fees, during the times or periods specified within that schedule It shall be sole responsibility of the client to ensure their property, its contents and pets are adequately insured throughout the duration of the Scheduled Services. You are advised to check to see if your insurance provider need informing that someone will have access to your property whilst you are away
11. Third Parties
The Client shall advise the Service Provider of anyone who will have access to your property during any periods of the Clients absence, including but not limited to cleaning services, maintenance personnel, friends, family and neighbours. The Service Provider or carer shall not be liable for other persons or their actions or omissions who will be in, or have access to your property before, during or after services have been rendered
12. Carers companion
The carer may have a spouse, family member of friend accompany them whilst providing the scheduled services. No costs will be applied to the clients account for any assistance the companion provides. The client will be advised in advance where a carer wishes to take a companion, all companions will be subjected to whatever checks the Service provider considers necessary or appropriate.
1. Booking
Home Boarding services are charged for a 24 hour period from the time of arrival to time of collection. If your dog(s) are collected within a 24 hour period – day boarding rates apply. Bank Holidays may incur additional fees which you will be advised of at the time of booking.
A preview visit,assessment and trial boarding is required, prior to reservations, FOR ALL NEW CLIENTS.
All bookings must be made at least 24 hours before arrival date.
A 25% NON REFUNDABLE deposit is required for all bookings.
NO dogs under the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991 will be accepted.
2.Cancellations
In the event of cancellations that are notified to us 14 days prior to the start of the booking period, all fees less the non-refundable deposit, will be refunded, or held over for subsequent bookings. Any bookings that are cancelled between 14 days and 48 hours before the start date of the booking will require 50% payment for services.
All bookings cancelled within 48 hours will be payable in full. If the pet service provider, cannot provide the service agreed, we will do our best to arrange an alternative, unless in extreme circumstances, where we will endeavour to give 24 hours notice.
3. Aggressive Animals
The pet service provider will not accept aggressive animals.
The client agrees to be responsible for all costs (including but not limited to medical care, legal fees, etc) if the client’s pet(s) should bite another animal.
Client agrees that on booking services for their dog(s) that they have represented that the dog(s) to have not shown aggression or caused harm, or threatening behaviour to any individual and/or any pet(s), and the client agrees to contact the provider as soon as possible if any of these behavioural changes presents itself or if it has the potential to cause harm to any individual or pet(s).
We will not board unruly or untrained dogs. If the client’s dog(s) whilst being boarded shows aggressive tendencies towards the pet service provider or their family, or should its behaviour become unacceptable or a nuisance beyond reasonable acceptance, the client agrees that he/she be placed either with the emergency contact or in a boarding kennel, until the client returns, and this will be subject to a transfer charge.
4. Unforeseen Purchases
In the event that additional items need to be purchased in the absence of the client – i.e. pet food, litter or other necessary items that contribute to the health and wellbeing of your pet, the pet service provider will purchase these, retain a receipt and the pet owner is responsible for reimbursement of these items on their return.
5. Updates
Please inform us of any changes regarding your contact numbers, your pet’s care needs, your emergency contact details and other pertinent information.
6. Privacy Policy
All of your information will be kept private and confidential.
Your pet service provider highly respects our clients’ entrusting us with the care of their pets.
All of our records will be stored in compliance with the General Data Protection Regulations 2018.
7. Insurance
All reasonable care is taken to ensure the integrity and suitability of the care provided.
The pet service provider has valid public liability insurance, for the peace of mind of its clients.
The insurance only covers the sitter when working for the pet service provider, for the duration of the selected service, and only for services arranged with the pet service provider.
We recommend that you purchase your own separate pet insurance
8. Medication/Vaccinations/Immunisations
The pet service provider will follow instructions to administer medications as directed but cannot be held responsible for complications that arise as a result.
Under no circumstances will the pet service provider board any pet that has any form of active contagious illness.We require a copy of a valid vaccination certificate.
All puppies must have completed their primary course of vaccinations and be fully house trained. If the pet service provider is bitten or exposed to any disease or ailment received from the clients pet(s) which has not been properly or currently vaccinated, the client will be responsible for all costs and damages that may be incurred as a result.
9. Collars/Leads
Please provide secure collars with appropriate tags for all visits. All dogs will be walked on lead at all times unless an off lead disclaimer has been signed and dated.
10 Changes to return date
The pet service provider carefully schedules our time to serve you and our other clients, therefore, there are no refunds or credits for early returns or last minute changes to pet care.In the event that the client is delayed on return, they must inform the pet service provider immediately, and the pet service provider will use its best endeavours to make alternative arrangements for continued cover, even when the original sitter is unable to continue with care following the assignment end date.
11. Payment
The pet service provider accepts BACS ( Bank Transfer )or cash.A 25% deposit of the total sum due is payable to the pet service provider at the time of booking and remaining balance is due on or before the first date of the booking.Where payment is not received in accordance with these terms and conditions of business, the company reserves the right not to proceed with any previously agreed arrangements, and a cancellation fee will be payable.
12. Liability
The pet service provider shall not be liable to the client or be deemed to be in breach of the contract by reason of any delay in performing, or any failure to perform, any of it’s obligations in relation to the services, if the delay or failure was due to any cause beyond the pet service provider’s reasonable control.
